Palani: A hidden Paradise in Masbate

Even before I was born, Palani already existed. Back in the days where we just visit the place whenever my family wants it. We would always enjoy the long stretch of pristine powdery white sand. No private beach resorts. Just its people.

As my father owned a land in Palani, he decided to move here from Mandaon, a third-class municipality in the province of Masbate.

Palani is a small barangay in Balud situated in the southwestern part of Masbate. Fishing and farming are the primary resources of living.

I went on vacation in April and noticed that a lot has already changed. I noticed the numbers of private beaches and resorts are growing. We'll, it's good to know that the place is fast-developing.

Unlike any other beaches and resorts, Palani remains quiet and solemn. Also, it isn't congested. The crystalline blue water is invigorating and irresistible. It is also a perfect spot to watch the sunset where you can also see the majestic Sibuyan island. Indeed, Palani is a finest gem of Masbate.

Failed to wait for the perfect sunset, but this one will do.

Habal-habal
, a motor back riding is the primary mode of transportation going to the town of Balud and from Balud to Palani. Roads are now asphalt paved unlike before, it was rough.

How to get here from Masbate city?

There are vans and buses travelling to and fro which is normally from 4:00 am to 4:00 pm. Fare is at least 200 pesos. Advise the driver to drop you off at crossing in Palani, then ride a habal-habal to the beach front which will cost you 15-20 pesos.
