Puerto Galera Jaunt

White beach, Puerto Galera. Photo was taken in 2012 As we are all aware, Puerto Galera is a first-class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro located in the northwestern part of the province and accessible from the Southern Luzon port of Batangas. My first Puerto Galera escaped was in 2012 along with my colleagues. I wasn't really feeling the excitement as I spent 19 years playing and splashing the sea waves back in the province. We live near the seashore, this explains. But then when I set foot in Mindoro everything changed. When we were at the Batangas port I was surprised by the numbers of tourists going to Puerto Galera. Of course, it somehow changed my perception. It was a warm travel by the sea going to the place. When we arrived at the Puerto Galera port I wasn't delighted with what meets my eye. It was like I went to one of the places in Masbate and visited a fishpond we partly owned. However, when we left the place, I was stunned and captivated...

Galavanting Capones, Camara and Anawangin in Zambales

The province of Zambales is situated in the Central Luzon region. The place is a home to many tourist attractions– beaches, resorts, and historical sites. Zambales is one of the perfect place in the Philippines for a summer getaway. The lovely Camara Island It was in May 2013 when I went to this place for the first time though I've been to different towns of Zambales. It was a tiresome and funny trip leaving Manila at 3:00 am to avoid the heavy traffic. It only took us three and a half hour to reach our destination– Pundaquit, San Antonio Zambales.  We stayed at the Canoe Beach Resort, but prior to check-in, we had already contacted a boatman for our island hopping as we wanted to explore the beauteous island and islets of Zambales.   At the Canoe Beach Resort upon our arrival. The place where the resort is located seems to be a boat dock which isn't appealing to the eye. However, everything has changed when we explored the place. I was struck by th...

The resplendent island of Potipot

I would always love to go back to this place. Believe me! Failed to capture the whole island, but it's enchanting as you can see. I should've been here thrice had it not been with the storm which affected the province of Zambales back in November 2015 when I first went to Candelaria, Zambales together with my colleagues. Our planned to visit Potipot failed. I wouldn't want let the failure in the past ruin another plan. So, in February 2016 we decided to go back to Candelaria and this time it was a sure success. My first success visit didn't satisfy me so, in February 2017 I returned together with someone special. Potipot holds a special place in my heart as this is the place where I found a new love. Cheesy! Potipot can be found in Candelaria, a third-class municipality in Zambales. It's a small island which measures more than 7 hectares thus, can be explored in less than an hour. I did it for at least 30 minutes. There are private beaches and resorts in...

Palani: A hidden Paradise in Masbate

Even before I was born, Palani already existed. Back in the days where we just visit the place whenever my family wants it. We would always enjoy the long stretch of pristine powdery white sand. No private beach resorts. Just its people. As my father owned a land in Palani, he decided to move here from Mandaon, a third-class municipality in the province of Masbate. A serene view of a beach in Palani, Balud Masbate Palani is a small barangay in Balud situated in the southwestern part of Masbate. Fishing and farming are the primary resources of living. I went on vacation in April and noticed that a lot has already changed. I noticed the numbers of private beaches and resorts are growing. We'll, it's good to know that the place is fast-developing. Unlike any other beaches and resorts, Palani remains quiet and solemn. Also, it isn't congested. The crystalline blue water is invigorating and irresistible. It is also a perfect spot to watch the sunset where you can a...

Why Ang Antigo?

The Author This blog has been drafted since 2011, but due to time constraint I was unable to finish what I started. Of course, not until today. While finishing the layout of this blog, I was thinking of what would be my first blog post. Well, I guess there's no better way to introduce what this blog is all about – author, ideas, influence and history.  I'm a Secondary Education graduate from the lone state college in the province of Masbate– Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr., Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology . I am also a pageant correspondent who is managing the pageant site,  The Pageant Queens.  Why I'm pursuing this personal blog? I was inspired by a colleague who happens to be the author of a travel blog Sirang Lente to continue what I have started. He aims to visit the 83 provinces of the Philippines. Check out his blog and learn which provinces he has been to.  Antigo ( Tagalog ) - adj - Antique; ancient.  However...
